Meet Marly, our citizen of week!

Marly lives at 3782 Regal Mountain Drive in Westridge, where she can admire the lovely views of Millsberry from high atop King's Hill. She has been a resident of the town since September 20, 2004, and is already a favorite among her fellow citizens.

Marly credits her move to Millsberry with making her a more friendly person. People who know her now would find it very hard to believe that Marly was once quite shy. Since she arrived in Millsberry, though, Marly has opened up and become one of the friendliest people in town! Though she can still feel a little shy when meeting someone for the first time, Marly tries to always remember that the other person probably feels nervous too.

Her ability to see things from another person's point of view also makes Marly a very generous person. Whenever a worthy cause comes along, Marly is always more than willing to lend her support. During the past year, Marly has contributed her time and effort to numerous charity events, provided Millsbucks to the Millsberry food drive, and donated her unused belongings to the Community Center. If Marly thinks that there's a way for her to improve the lives of others, she'll jump right in to help!

When Marly isn't busy doing good deeds around Millsberry, she can usually be found on the soccer field with her friends. Her generous nature makes Marly an ideal teammate, since she's willing to put aside her own glory and set up other players when they have an opportunity to score. Regardless of whether they win or lose, Marly and her friends head out for pizza or ice cream after each game, as a way of celebrating their effort and teamwork.

In her spare time, Marly likes to spend her quiet moments either sculpting or writing, usually while listening to classical music for inspiration. She loves the feeling of creating a work of art from clay, marble, or even words. Her favorite piece is a sculpture that she made out of clay, baked in a kiln, and then painted light blue, pink, and silver. One day, Marly hopes to have her own sculpture exhibit at the Millsberry Museum, where she often goes to study works by the great masters.

Marly's love of writing led her to the Millsberry Recording Studio soon after it opened. Since she enjoys writing poems, Marly thought that she might want to try her hand at coming up with song lyrics. Her catchy rhymes and melodic phrases (which are often inspired by her favorite classic rock songs and show tunes) must have struck a chord with listeners, because her song has already made it to the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Top Ten chart!

Thanks for being a fine citizen, Marly, and congratulations on being named Millsberry's citizen of the week.
