Meet Mike Jones, our citizen of the week!
Mike lives at 43972 Young Street in the stylish and modern neighborhood of Metro Park. Mike has been a citizen since May 31, 2005, and he's already begun to enjoy the benefits of living so near to Downtown Millsberry. Mike especially likes the fact that his home is within walking distance of the arcade in the Downtown Entertainment Complex!
During the school year, Mike is one of Millsberry Academy's finest students. His favorite subject is math, and he really loves to dig into a complex math problem and solve it. Mike also is an avid reader; one of his favorite activities is climbing up into his treehouse on a sunny afternoon and enjoying a good book. Though he'll read a book on almost any subject, Mike particularly likes reading about animals. All this reading has made Mike very knowledgeable about a wide variety of topics. Ask him anything and he'll either give you the answer or recommend just the right book for you to find it!
Mike doesn't spend all his time cooped up studying, though! During the summer and after school, he can usually be found working on new skateboarding tricks at the half-pipe in Peabody Park, swimming at the pool, or tossing around a football with a friend in his backyard. Part of what makes Mike such a good athlete is his outgoing nature, which is why he's always on the lookout for new friends to join in when he's putting together a pick-up football game. Mike's passion for sports might make him seem a little pushy on the court or the playing field, but most of the time, he's just trying to make sure that both teams get a fair shake and that games are called evenly. Mike has achieved many athletic accomplishments, and he's also the proud owner of trophies for Hop-N-Drop, Rope Race, Sink the Three, and many other games. It's easy to spot Mike out on the field during a game, since he's usually the one in the red, black, and green jersey!
One of Mike's newest interests is music. Although pop, oldies, and rap are usually his style, Mike realized (after reading a book on how classical music is written) that his favorite subject, math, actually has a lot to do with music! It wasn't long before Mike had headed down to the Millsberry Recording Studio to see if he could combine two of his favorite things, and he was obviously successful, because his mix of music and math has climbed all the way onto the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Top Ten chart!
Thanks for being a fine citizen, Mike Jones, and congratulations on being named Millsberry's citizen of the week!
