Thursday, October 1, 2009 — The trail of cereal crumbs and Cookie Crisp® cereal boxes scattered throughout town raised everyone's suspicions. But when Inspector Nelson lifted a set of fingerprints from one of the boxes, the results were still a bit of a shock.

Sure enough, the oddly shaped prints belonged to none other than the cereal-loving Chip the Wolf! And Inspector Nelson, whose favorite cereal just happens to be Cookie Crisp, knew what this meant.

Chip the Wolf is known for his Cookie Crisp cereal obsession, and for using trickery to distract people so he can snag their Cookie Crisp cereal boxes! In other words, this isn't the first time Chip has attempted to do this.

But the last time he appeared, he promised not to return — a pledge made after seeing his face on every Cookie Crisp cereal box. Little did he know that the picture wasn't an honor salute, but rather a way to help people recognize him if they noticed someone hanging out near their cereal bowl!

Given this history, Inspector Nelson now wants to equip every citizen with the tools necessary to protect their yummy boxes of delicious Cookie Crisp cereal from Chip. Nelson took fingerprints and posted a "Wanted" sign, featuring Chip's picture, at the front of the store. He explained, "I'm on the case — and I won't sleep until our cereal is safe!"
