Thursday, July 9, 2009 — You voted. Off she goes! If you were one of the thousands of Millsberry citizens who voted on where Loretta Rivers should travel for fashion inspiration, she thanks you. She also promises to come back with some of the freshest fashions to ever hit the racks of Wearhouse.

In case you didn't know, London won! The capital of England has been Loretta's dream destination since she was a little girl. She said, "I'd buy travel magazines and cut out pictures of London and hang them on my wall. I'm so excited to finally take my own pictures of this fabulous and magical city. Thank you Millsberry!"

Believe it or not, Loretta is also excited for the long flight. After traveling so much, she has learned how to make the most out of what can be an uncomfortable and boring journey. "I've packed some books about London that recommend which restaurants and sights to check out. I also plan to do some sketches for my fall line. I'm also looking forward to catching some movies in the air. But if there is nothing good to watch maybe I'll sit next to someone interesting. Last time I sat next to a submarine captain! Remember, it's important to always be courteous to those sitting around you by not being too loud, or moving roughly in your seat. Just sit back and relax!"

We asked Loretta what she's most excited about doing when she first arrives in London. She explained, "I'm in love with the architecture and I really see it influencing my designs. I'm also really excited for the food! I can't wait to try their meat pies!"

When we reminded Loretta that she'd be leaving in just a few hours, a look of stress came over her face. "I hope I didn't pack too much! I'm going to need to leave enough space for new materials and mementos I'll be bringing back. Oh—and let me know what you'd like me to bring back, and I'll do my best to find it!"

Well, readers, we have to admit we left this interview with a strong feeling of wanderlust. Perhaps we should take the Gazette overseas? One can dream! In the meantime, we can't wait for Loretta to bring back a taste of the United Kingdom.
