HAPPY NEW YEAR, MILLSBERRY!
Wednesday, December 28, 2005 — The Millsberry Gazette would like to wish everyone in Millsberry a happy New Year! Citizens all over Millsberry are busy planning their New Year's Eve parties, picking out party favors and special festive outfits. Ravenwood resident Nicole Sewell is holding a fancy, formal party to celebrate the New Year with her friends. "We all went to the Clothing Store and picked out really cool party clothes. Then I visited Tricks, Toys & Games and bought some colorful decorations! Planning a party is fun and easy. Everyone in Millsberry should give it a try!"
The holiday season is also the perfect time to reflect on all the good times you've had during the past twelve months and to think about all the things you can do to make the coming year even better. "The best part of 2005 was definitely the new hockey rink," Daniel Rice, of Metro Park, told the Gazette. "Playing in the league is so much fun, and I hope to do even better next year!"
Many people start off the new year by making a resolution. These resolutions are commitments that you make to a certain project or lifestyle change, which can be anything from resolving to finish a special painting or story that you've been working on to deciding to eat more vegetables.
"I'm planning to exercise at least four times a week in the New Year," said Chloe Eng, of Westridge. Diana Franco, of Lakeview, is resolving to eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day.
Resolutions can also include donating to the Millsberry Community Center more often, spending more time with your family, or even picking up litter around town!
LUCKY CHARMS? SUDOKU A HIT!
People all over Millsberry are buzzing about Lucky Charms? Sudoku! "I can't get enough of it!" Kara Duran, of Ravenwood, told the Gazette. "I do the puzzle at each skill level every day. Starting out with the easiest puzzle was very helpful to me, and I recommend it to all beginners." Tim Garcia, of Golden Valley, offered a few hints to his fellow players: "Always start out by trying to fill in the regions with the most given shapes in them. I also found that I play better if I don't start out with an empty stomach! Other than that, it just takes a little patience and practice, but you'll eventually figure out how to get all the shapes in the right place!"
