OPEN A YARD SALE TODAY!
Thursday, May 17, 2007 — Attention all citizens! It's now easier than ever to have your own yard sale!
In a process that previously involved going to Peterson's Hardware and Construction Emporium, citizens can now start a yard sale without leaving home. So, if you're new to town, or have a home that doesn't have a yard yet, Pete Peterson's crew is here to help you become a super seller!
As you all know from the Gazette's coverage so far this month, yard sales are one of Millsberry's biggest strengths. With a thriving community of eager buyers and sellers, why not join the fun, earn some Millsbucks, and get to know your neighbors? Read on to find out how to start your own yard sale today.
For those of you who already have yard space at home, just place a sign outside your home to let everyone know you're open for business. Then, move items into your yard, and be sure to put some thought into how much you want to charge for each thing.
For those of you without yards, Pete Peterson will now send one of his employees to your home to inspect and set up your yard area. You'll have to purchase the plot (2,500 Millsbucks), but you don't need to leave your neighborhood or trek to the hardware store. How's that for a stress-free way to kick off your yard sale career? Then, once you've got your yard, Pete will place a sign in front of your home while you start adding items to sell!
One last bit of advice: To let everyone know about your new enterprise, place an ad in the Gazette Yard Sale Classifieds. It's an inexpensive way to get the word out. Other citizens can search the classifieds by neighborhood and even search for a specific item in that neighborhood. You might be selling an item that another citizen has been desperately searching for, so help him find you by placing an ad!
Thanks to Pete Peterson and this new development, there's no reason why anyone shouldn't have a yard sale now. Citizens are already clamoring to their homes to "order" a yard, so what are you waiting for? Happy shopping, and happy selling!
